Conneaut Lake Trees of Light
Every year on Thanksgiving night, Al’s Melons Farm Market lights Conneaut Lake with beautiful lighted flagpoles. This tradition was started by two neighbors who had the idea of putting lights on their flagpoles, then grew as more Crawford County residents joined in on the fun. The lights surround the lake and create a stunning picture as they reflect off the surface. You can walk around the lake or even take a ride on the lake’s historic paddleboat, the Barbara J, to get a lovely, immersive winter experience.
Meadville Light Up Night
To kick off the season, Meadville celebrates with their annual Light Up Night. Local shops downtown open their doors for an evening of shopping and the restaurants are full of delicious food and good cheer. Complete with lights, live music, ice sculptures and even Santa Claus himself, this event is a night your family will remember for years to come.
Downtown Dollars
The holiday season means holiday shopping! There are lots of great places to shop in Crawford County’s downtown areas. From boutiques to chocolate shops to antique stores, there’s a gift for everyone on your list. The Oil Creek & Titusville Railroad gives passengers a magical, up-close experience with Santa Claus. Winter Ice House Festival
The cold weather means it’s time for one of Conneaut Lake’s coolest events— the annual Winter Ice House Festival! Originally a midwinter event, now the festival is in December to add to the season’s festivities. This year features a caroling and sing-along activity, a beer stein holding contest and a raffle for some special Crawford County wares. Come see the best ice sculptures of the year and get a taste of holiday spirit.
New Year’s Eve at the Baldwin-Reynolds House
There’s no better way to ring in the new year than with a party at the Baldwin-Reynolds House Museum in Meadville. Wear your nicest suit or dress and dance the old year away to live jazz music. Complete with a champagne toast, craft beer from VooDoo Brewery and hors d’oeuvres from The Venango Valley Inn in the historic Baldwin-Reynolds mansion, it’s the perfect event to create lasting memories.
