Enjoy the Father’s Day Weekend in Crawford County when the Thurston Classic Hot Air Balloon Event celebrates its 32^nd spectacular. The festivities begin Thursday evening with the Joyce Stevens Memorial Night Glow where several balloons are inflated and illuminated to the delight of both young and old. Upwards of 30 balloons and their pilots will participate in launches from the complex on Friday and Saturday evenings and flights into the complex Saturday and Sunday mornings. The 7 am morning events are spectacular when pilots compete in a contest flying into the launch site at the complex. Winner is the pilot coming closest to the center of a target with a baggie they’ve tossed from their balloon basket. Official souvenir apparel and food available during Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening events. FREE admission and parking. No seating so bring a blanket or chair. Limited parking, plan to come as early as 5 pm for the Night Glow and approximate 7 pm fights.
