Pattern and color are two of the basic elements in art that are part of our visual perception of the world. Color is a constant source of inspiration, and induces the wides range of emotions in the maker and the viewer. Even a lack of color evokes a response. Pattern is a repetition of an element (or elements) tat we can recognize, and can be color, line, shape, material, texture, etc. Patterns can vary in rhythm, direction, and value. They can have a purpose or meaning, or can simply exist as decoration. Some patterns are simply art of the process, like woven textiles or hammered metal.

Evening reception and opening on Friday March 30th from 5 – 7 pm in the Stonewall Gallery.
